Where We Belong - Emily Giffin review
5/5 - my rating.
I just finished reading “Where We Belong” written by Emily Giffin, and even though I’m aware that she’s a famous writer it’s actually my first time reading one of her works. And. It. Was. Brilliant. I have read some reviews on the internet and wondered what their thoughts about the book were and found some who was disappointed saying that it was one of her worst works, but I totally disagree especially now that I was able to finish the book right off bat. It was a page turner like, literally. You just can’t wait for tomorrow to know the next flow of events.
I personally recommend it. It’s all about the importance of finding the right decisions in life and how the people around us influence our choices. It’s about how life changes as we grow older and our priorities differ from what they were before. As we grow, we realize how narrow-minded we once were and wondered whether we made the right choices we decided to follow.
Once upon a time, in your life you'll start to wonder how things would turn out if you decided to stand up for what was once present.
Everything happens, during that one summer when they were 18 (Marian and Conrad)
Marian Caldwell. Big time producer. In a relationship with the company's CEO. Rich. Wants to settle down and be married and have a child. Just.Perfect.
Kirby Katherine Rose. 18. Senior. Plain. Adopted. Musician.
Conrad Knight. Musician. Once married but his partner turned out to be a bi and of course, she doesn't want to have a child but he does. Marian was the love of his life. Owns Zelda's - Live music 365 days a year, which is a bar.
These 3, were all living their own lives. All related by blood, one is not fully aware of the activities of the other. An unexpected meeting that will change a lot, a meeting that will fill the gap that was missing all those 18 years of lies.
A story of beginnings. A story of knowing where we truly belong.
I found this book during this year’s National book store’s big sale. All I can say is that… It was a good choice I picked it up on the floor.
