5 Things that Automatically Changes from Elementary to College
Over time, our needs change. From preschool to college we depend on our parents almost on everything, but just how did things change over that period of time?
This time I tried to think of 5 things that automatically changes from elementary to college, (which includes knowledge that is too obvious to the point that I can't even elaborate it in a special way). I didn't include preschool since I'm to young to remember whatever I needed at that time, if you remembered whatever those were feel free to comment it down below! :)
So here it goes!
1. Free time
Elementary: You'd spent you break and lunch playing with friends after eating; you would play tag or chinese garter or or mini games or even ghost hunting, you'd spent times in old buildings acting all scared when a gust of wind blew saying "may multo!" ("there's a ghost!") and all your friends will shout and run for their lives like there is no tomorrow.
Highschool: Nothing much changed in highschool though this is more, adult like? or shall I say you act more mature than a gradeschooler. You'd again spent time eating with your friends, some may review for quizzes ( Though I never remember reviewing for quizzes. It's a miracle I passed the quizzes and exams when they are almost all identification.) and talk about your crushes and sometimes play games.
College: This is where a lot of things had changed. You eat, then you review then you, go to your class and take the quiz then during another free time you review again for the next quiz, this happens when you have a strict schedule. When you have a lot more free time you get the chance to talk with you friend how he/she did last quiz. When you got 3 hours of break, yes? You spent time going to tea houses sitting there chilling out or you even go to the mall with your friends. (This applies when you are a typical first year or a second year.) For pre-med students: Um, we study that's it.
2. Buying new stuff
Elementary: You love buying new notebooks, bags, pencils, crayons, and papers every year, your parents spent 2 thousand pesos at national book store just to provide you everything you need. You buy new uniform new, year and name tags, you buy new shoes. Well that can't be help right? You're a growing dude.
Highschool: Nothing really differed when you where in elementary, but you buy more childless stuffs now, you get good quality ballpens, complete set of intermediate pad and it's brothers and sisters (I'm pertaining to 1/2 crosswise ,1/2 length wise and 1/4 sheet of pad papers). You now get backpacks instead of the rollers. You get new shoes, of course and you have complete set of whatever is supposed to be in your pencil case.
College: You bought a binder which you never really used that much. You also end up using a notebook. You buy new shoes and it depends on you if you buy new bag. I say, all this time when I was in college, I buy nothing since I bought everything I might need when I was still a first year student, you know the usual ones, a rim of long and short bond papers, a pack of long and short brown envelopes and set of long and short folders. I have no problem with my notes since I have a stack of papers I could use (I don't use notebooks or binders). So yes, typically to survive college you need intermediate pad, black ballpen, and a notebook that's all.
3. Summer Vacation:
Elementary: to Highschool: You spent it with your parents on vacation or at home. You play with your friends or stay in front of the computer, you do your usual stuff playing musical instruments, reading
books, painting, watching anime, watching tv (whatever you love doing).
College: You spent it in school doing research or the usual summer class to advance or to pass a failed subject the last sem. You do your usual stuff too, but I mean, school during summer?! What a pain. Summer is, too hot. I mean, it's hard to concentrate in this time of the year and you get to spent it in school (of all the places)?! Yes, studying. I guess that is where the line goes "student+dying" yes, from hotness. Um, yes summer you're totally hot.
4. Allowance
Elementary: You don't really get much money, you are usually given a packed lunch and plenty of snacks, yes that is how you're parents love you.
Highschool: Some are given packed lunch with allowance and some just go to school with allowance. Since in highschool you're kind of "free" well not totally free, you save your allowance so that if your friend says they want to hang out you have money to spare.
College: Same as highschool. But you get A LOT of MONEY. Well, yes, when you get to college this is the time of the year! Especially for those students who, um, loves money.
5. Innocence
Against all of what I had discussed I guess this one is the most important. I can never really differentiate how each one of you had changed in this particular matter over time since I know it will be different, but all I can say is maintain your sanity in all aspects. Be good, do good, and spread a large amount of goodness.
