The Blood of Olympus
I read the book for like 11-12 hours, yes, even if I want to get some rest, the book's just too much of a page turner. After I finished the book, I was well, happy because they got to save the world, but at the same time I'm also s-a-d since, that's the LAST book of one of my favorite series. It's different when I finished The Last Olympian, I mean, there's a clue there that the adventure isn't over, but the ending of The Blood of Olympus is like smacking me in the face telling "No more Percy Jackson okay? Give way for the others." So yes, the next book is all about Norse Mythology, I haven't searched much about it but it's all about Magnus Chase et cetera, Norse mythology, yes. It interest me more than the Kane Chronicles, but Kane C got a lot of good feedback so I guess, I'd study a bit of Egyptian Mythology before reading it.
I don't want to name some of my favorite parts of the book since everything's just too good. Especially at the last part, you'd observe how all of them are totally equal as the "Heroes of Olympus". All of them shared different levels of talents and capabilities but are truly helpful to each member of the group. The whole series teaches a lot of things for its readers. It is both educational and full-of-humor-fantasy-type (I don't even know if there's a genre like that, well obviously there isn't). Well, that simply means, it is not boring. (I just hope all text books would be like a fictional novel really, though who knows THESE PEOPLE MIGHT REALLY EXIST, not really the exact people of the series but their likes. Well everything's possible, I personally don't close my doors to any possibility that this world has to offer, I mean this whole mother earth is so cool! It has a lot of things we haven't yet discover, it's just like our mothers, waiting for the right time to show us her greatest treasures when we got a little more older. Though, I might be dead already before all mother earth's treasure had already been discovered.)
Well, anyway enough for the intro, there's no point in naming this post "Blood of Olympus" if it isn't about the book. Just like what I mentioned beforehand, I love how Riordan showed equality between the heroes. It is not all just about Percy (though I love Percy) or Annabeth. It's not all about the seven. It's all about the characters who made their quest possible, you definitely should thank Riordan for non stop adventures he'd placed on the book, there's a lot of minor gods and goddess you'd encounter. (That will add to your list of gods and goddess in case you haven't encountered them yet.) and of course titans and giants and Gaea herself.
I guess, I should just put here 4 lessons you'll get from reading the book, (You'll get more lessons I tell you, I just limit it into 3 because, I'm a typical human, -I have life to fulfill to- I hope you get it.) instead of my favorite parts since if I insisted on writing those I might end up typing the whole content of the book.
So here it goes:
1. Be wise
We often think that we're better off alone since nobody would understand our troubles and well, everything about us, it is true though, people judge us first before they even had the opportunity to talk to us, but not all people are like that. We may be different from the usual ones (Since people tend to copy other people which I find annoying, since, hey, you got your own life, live up the way you like it.) but there are people ready to hear us out, we just keep on going setting ourselves away from them, we keep our walls too high the other people just keep on climbing but we won't just break those wall because we are AFRAID, afraid of getting hurt and stuff. I say that it's wise to raise up walls, but it is unwise to raise it with the people you can trust most. I suggest, you can set up your wall up high but put a little hole below since if a person is really eager to know you, I tell you that that person can still find a way to communicate with you through that hole and those people who are just willing to do so will find a way to look for it and those people are the ones you call "worth it".
This is what I've learned (Actually, just a refresh) from Nico. I told you guys that I like Nico the way he is in my last review, well if you haven't read it yet and if you are willing to do so just click this: House of Hades though I guess I haven't mentioned why. So this is the reason why, I think he's pretty much of a reasonable person, but the only problem is that he assumed he doesn't belong to anywhere. Hades ones said to him that he found all his children sad since they're always alone at least he wanted Nico to be an exception. I was really um, scared? Haha yes scared that Nico might die in the last book since, HE IS IN THE VERGE OF DEATH, transporting that Athena Parthenos from Europe to America through shadow travelling. Even his father had told him so. I don't want him to die since I believe he wasn't even able to experience yet what life has to offer. He's much like Percy Jackson, someone who'd do everything to save his friends, even risk his life but he works in the dark where nobody expect him to do some action. Maybe that's the reason why I like these two. It's funny when I found out Nico had a crush on Percy, I mean, I don't think that's a romantic type, since I know, Nico sees Percy as his hero, it's just that since they're too much a like in my perspective. I realized, that people really has the possibility to like people who are like them. Well, there are also instances where people fall in love to those who are "not" them since falling in love to such person would make their lives "complete". That makes sense, you fall in love to a person you are not. Then that person can fulfill who you aren't and you complete the parts which you partner isn't, and that makes full complete cycle right?
Anyway, Nico found someone he can talk to, it's Reyna daughter of Bellona, and a Praetor to the legion. I just hope they end up falling for each other since they're a good match. Now I realized, Reyna liked Percy right? and these two (Nico and Percy) are much a like, I just really hope they end up together, hahaha I don't need another series (There's no suitable antagonist to defeat if it's a greek myth) for these even though I'd love to but turning it to a love story would just make the story boring (hey, I'm not against love stories) but making an action-type-all-powerful-demigod type of story in to a pure love story is a big NO. So yes, in my own version of the last chapters I assumed they'd be together.
2. There are several ways to solve a problem.
Don't settle for one or two ways in solving a problem. There always has to be different and easier methods in doing things. Just like in addition, in adding one plus one you can use a calculator, or your fingers or you can get two sticks and combine them. You have a lot of ways to resolve things the problem is that people always settle for the "hard" way, seriously. That's their way of life. Which is guess somewhat good since, people only learn through a painful process. Inevitable experiences shapes people. It always had to be in a HARD WAY. Well, this is only a suggestion but if you think you are handling too much of what life has to offer, then I suppose you should consider the easier ways to solve a problem. I can't tell you what to do, you have to figure it out yourself. Your brain weigh 30% of your body, it's heavy so use it.
Zeus, was really mad at Apollo and Hera. So the problem about Apollo is all about the oracle and about his descendant Octavian. I don't think it's Apollo's fault when Rachel Elizabeth Dare recited the greatest prophecy just when she was assigned as the Oracle of Delphi's new body, but in case of Octavian, I guess Apollo's to blame hahaha well, just like what his twin sister said he's easily "flattered". Hera, on the other had really caused a lot of stirring, without her the story wouldn't be possible, she's both an annoying goddess and a totally obsessed mother of the Olympian family. Well, to name something good about her, she was the holder of the key to save the world. (the heroes being the key itself.) Zeus has his reason to be mad at her, it is true though, Hera as soon as she heard the news about the great prophecy do things in her own way. There has to be several ways to fix their problem but the queen acted on her own. Which endangered not only the demigods but her own beloved family. (though without this the story wouldn't be made possible but what I'm telling you about is what you'll learn anyway). In doing things we mustn't act on our own. Even if we're the leaders or even if you are the president of the country, you must seek advice. We are created to gather with our fellow humans to be able to communicate well and not to act on our own to decide the fate of many other people.
3. Face your fears.
Facing our fears is one of the easiest things in our lives, but admitting we're scared? That's out of question sometimes. Mostly, people would admit how scared they are but some people won't. Sure, it takes a lot of courage to admit that we're scared of something. Our pride does that, but the truth is that to be able to move on and have a beautiful life we must admit that every once in a while we also get scared. I think it is more scary if you hadn't felt any hint of fear your whole life. We cry so that the dread won't take over us. We adults are never too old for crying. Our abilities to produce tears hadn't come to an end ones we get to our puberty stages. Moreover, our tears are more useful at around these times since we face a lot of challenges in life. All I could say is that, sure we can accept our fears or dread (Phobos and Deimos) whichever, but we must not allow it to take over us. Admitting we felt scared would let us to see more clearly on things that we should do. Just don't let fear take over.

4. Success takes sacrifices.
In the book, Leo had to sacrifice himself to make the mission on killing Gaea midair possible. He died, but his dragon Festus had injected him the drug they got from Asclepius, the god of medicine.
Nemesis named Leo as the "seventh wheel" among his crew mates, which is I guess not true. She said that sounding like Leo isn't something special and needed but he is. Without him nothing in the quest would seem possible. He is needed. The quest just like our whole lives is like a spaghetti in the middle of cooking, we must put the most important seasonings, et cetera (I don't really have an idea about cooking) to make the food taste good, one false drop of a substantial amount of unneeded seasoning would make the food taste bad.
In our lives, success takes sacrifices. Which is true and you don't often observe but it does. Success in school would make your free time for your family less. Success in business also works the same way, you get to see your children less in exchange for a good career. Life's like that. But success is nothing, you just have to maintain the balance, because we don't really have much time for all the glory! We only have a limited unknown time to make our true lives worth living. We are humans, not machines, in the modern world, LIFE really doesn't much have to offer. Internet? games? computers? cellphones? Work? School? You call that life? No! Life is all about experience, if you waste all your time doing such things, then better find a way to make a real living. It's not all about the money it is all about knowing what life really is. Gee, we only live once! And even if we get reincarnated we unconsciously forget this present lives of ours, So go make a living. Make this lifetime of yours even better than the last.
