Betrayal - Danielle Steel review

Image
I'm not a critic and I'm not acting like one but I want to share my own views as an average reader. My over all rating would be 3/5.  It has a good plot, but the story's pace is too slow. It wasted a lot of lines to describe the same character over again. I actually get the point why the author did it, it is to emphasize 'who' the character is but for me, I guess it wasn't really effective. I have thought of giving up reading this book but because of my good impression on Steel's Family Ties I decided to continue doing so. Again, as I said the plot was good and it has impressive twists.  Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes. "At thirty-nine, Tallie Jones is a Hollywood legend. Her work as a film director is her passion and the center of her life; one after another, her award-winning productions achieve the rare combination of critical and commercial success. Where We Belong - Emily Giffin review

Image
5/5 - my rating.  I just finished reading “Where We Belong” written by Emily Giffin, and even though I’m aware that she’s a famous writer it’s actually my first time reading one of her works. And. It. Was. Brilliant. I have read some reviews on the internet and wondered what their thoughts about the book were and found some who was disappointed saying that it was one of her worst works, but I totally disagree especially now that I was able to finish the book right off bat. It was a page turner like, literally. You just can’t wait for tomorrow to know the next flow of events. I personally recommend it. It’s all about the importance of finding the right decisions in life and how the people around us influence our choices.  It’s about how life changes as we grow older and our priorities differ from what they were before. As we grow, we realize how narrow-minded we once were and wondered whether we made the right choices we decided to follow. Once upon a time, in your life you&

Code of Ethics of the Medical Technologist (New Version)

Only a few people post this on the internet and well, I decided to share this instead of waiting for some other people to do so. I am a victim of “Memorize the code of ethics (med tech) and we’ll have a quiz next meeting” and I am not aware that there’s a new and an old version. I searched on the internet and got my hands a copy of the code of ethics and, unfortunately, it’s an old version and I never knew it until the day of the exam. So future RMT’s who still haven’t got their hands on the new version, here it goes: Board of Medical Technology Code of Ethics (New Version) As I enter into the practice of Medical Technology, I shall accept the responsibilities inherent to being a professional; I shall uphold the law and shall not engage in illegal work nor cooperate with anyone so engaged; I shall avoid associating or being identified with any enterprise of questionable character; I shall work and act in a strict spirit of fairness to employer, clients, contractors, employees

Why do grades matter?

Image
The problem with root cause analysis is that no matter how many "why's" you answer, it will always end up that it was you who had done something wrong. That's what I've learned and realized today. Not that it matters a lot but it can affect a person a lot more than you can expect. Getting depressed over a quiz is something normal that a college student who has the same field as mine would naturally feel. Grades are everything in college. They decide what your rank is and how people look at you. Well, that's how life is... Even in normal circumstances we look at those who are on the top most highly without recognizing the people who had set the standard for us to label them as "on the top" (I hope you get what I mean - we wont be able to address people as 'on the top' if there are no people 'at the bottom', it is the same as experiencing happiness, we can't describe the feeling of happiness if weren't able to experie

The First Phone Call from Heaven "What is false about hope?"

Image
Stunning, page turner, a type of book that will make you lose track of time, and in every page will make you wonder "what's next?". Mitch Albom's "The First Phone Call from Heaven" will make each reader question themselves about the existence of heaven. Does it exist? Is life after death possible? is the end really not the end?  I personally find myself patiently read the few next pages warily, reading word per word wondering if my accusations about the characters are truly right and that goes to you too if you found yourself sucked on to Albom's work as how I was.  This is a story of few people living in Coldwater, Michigan in the outskirts of Detroit, where 9 people had claimed to receive a phone call from heaven. 8 deceased people are said to have communicated to their chosen ones among these people are  Anesh Barua who had claimed to communicate with his deceased daughter, Eddie Douken's who had talked to his  ex-wife, Jay James'

The Longest Ride: 7 different scenes that is in the 1st trailer but not in the book:

Yes, I've finished reading the book and as expected from Nicholas' works, it's good. One of his best tales.  One thing for sure is that it is different from the movie which is usual for movie-tie in novels made by Nicholas' for whatever reason? I don't know why maybe they try to think of a more thrilling way to make sales but I guess making the book as a movie as it is will sell even more than modifying it. For those who are curious because of the trailer and kept on saying it is a milder type of Fifty Shades of Grey for goodness sake, in the book it is not. (I don't know with the movie.) It's better to read the book before watching the movie (for some reasons that a book lover would understand). I think they just get the gist of the story but the details during the process are different. (watch the trailer here  .)  Let's move on to: 7 Different scenes that appears in the 1st trailer but not in the book: 1. Luke's hat d

5 Things that Automatically Changes from Elementary to College

Image
Over time, our needs change. From preschool to college we depend on our parents almost on everything, but just how did things change over that period of time?  This  time I tried to think of 5 things that automatically changes from elementary to college, (which includes knowledge that is too obvious to the point that I can't even elaborate it in a special way). I didn't include preschool since I'm to young to remember whatever I needed at that time, if you remembered whatever those were feel free to comment it down below! :)  So here it goes! 1. Free time Elementary: You'd spent you break and lunch playing with friends after eating; you would play tag or chinese garter or or mini games or even ghost hunting, you'd spent times in old buildings acting all scared when a gust of wind blew saying "may multo!" ("there's a ghost!") and all your friends will shout and run for their lives like there is no tomorrow.  Highsc

The Blood of Olympus

Image
I read the book for like 11-12 hours, yes, even if I want to get some rest, the book's just too much of a page turner. After I finished the book, I was well, happy because they got to save the world, but at the same time I'm also s-a-d since, that's the LAST book of one of my favorite series. It's different when I finished The Last Olympian, I mean, there's a clue there that the adventure isn't over, but the ending of The Blood of Olympus is like smacking me in the face telling "No more Percy Jackson okay? Give way for the others." So yes, the next book is all about Norse Mythology, I haven't searched much about it but it's all about Magnus Chase et cetera, Norse mythology, yes. It interest me more than the Kane Chronicles, but Kane C got a lot of good feedback so I guess, I'd study a bit of Egyptian Mythology before reading it.    I don't want to name some of my favorite parts of the book since everything's just too good.

House of Hades

Image
I just finished reading the 4th book of the series: Heroes of Olympus and well, just like the preceding books of the series, it was great! There are turns of events you'd never expect, and! I'm here to name some, so if you're not into I'm-so-curious-I-want-to-know-what-happened-before-I-read-the-book mode stop reading this post. And! and! What I'll mention are my top 3 favorite parts of the book (so far, I think those are my favorites scenes.) (Let's have it from my least to my most favorite) So! Here it goes!  ***(Not all of these might sound amazing to you but, they're my favorite parts, if ever you finished reading the book too, you can share to me your personal favorite parts too!) 3. Bob the Titan      Percy and Annabeth fell in to Tartarus (the realm of the god of the pit, well "realm" wouldn't be the best choice of word to describe it because they actually fell into the body of Tartatus himself.)They landed in t

It is not life that is "unfair"

Image
Trust me, people always blame "life" for their own misfortune. Well, not really "misfortune", but the results of their own doings. Well, it can't be helped right? All of us has the same experiences, I mean not really the same experiences but admit it, once upon a time, you blame life for whatever bad things had happen. Well, for me it is not life that is to blame. Let's take a student who studies hard for an example and imagine that the student is you . Well, all students study hard anyway, or at least they do their work as a student just to pass, so I could say, no student is a total slacker, nobody graduates without doing any effort, even students who keep on parasitising their other classmates actually made an "effort" to copy and cheat, well I guess, cheating also needs some courage and effort, you sacrifice a lot just to cheat, it is either you get a higher grade or the teacher/professor catches you and you luckly get  5 whic
